About our program
HSAA Baseball is part of Dallas HSAA, a homeschool sports organization that serves the Dallas and North Texas areas. HSAA was established to provide homeschooled youth with opportunities to compete in competitive athletic events in a Christian atmosphere. Through this athletic competition, HSAA is committed to providing parents with support in their responsibility of developing high moral character within each student-athlete.
HSAA started in 1995 with just a middle school baseball team, and HSAA Baseball program has grown into a highly competitive and well-respected baseball program, fielding five teams. The HSAA Varsity team has won the National Championship in six of the years (2019, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2011, and 2005) since the Home School World Series began (2000). Locally, the Varsity team won the Gold Division of the Texas Private School Classic in 2014 and 2019.
HSAA creates teams at both the High School (Varsity & JV) and Middle School (7th grade & 8th grade) levels. 6th graders may try out for the MS teams. HSAA fields 2 JV teams. Tryouts / practices begin in August with Parent/Player information meetings in late August. Registration opens in late July (opening 7/19) as well. Workouts continue throughout the fall. All players interested in playing or trying out for any of the HSAA teams should attend these workouts. Contact the Baseball Commissioner if there is a scheduling conflict. After tryouts, outdoor practices will continue into November (possibly later if weather permits). Teams will then move to indoor practices until January.
In the spring, high school starts outdoor practices in early January (weather permitting) while middle school starts outdoor practices in late January. High school scrimmages and games start in the latter part of January. Middle school games usually start up in mid to late February. Games continue through April with the Varsity concluding the season with an appearance at the Home School World Series in the first week of May. HSAA schedules games against area private schools (TAPPS and SPC) as well as a few public schools and other homeschool teams.
